Two Vietnamese students won bronze medals at the Microsoft Office Specialist Word Championship 2014 (MOSWC) which was held in California, the US, from July 27-30.
They are Tran Phuc Duy, 10th grader from Dinh Thien Ly School, who won in the category of MOS PowerPoint 2010, and Tran Minh Tien from the Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City, who triumphed in the MOS Excel 2010 category.
A press conference aiming to honour the winners is scheduled to take place in mid-August.
After taking part in the contest for the past five years, the Ministry of Education and Training and IIG Vietnam will jointly host MOSWC in 2015.
This is the 3th consecutive year Vietnamese students have won prizes at the contest. Last year, Phan Tien Dung, a student from HCM City-based Banking University, won third prize in the category of Word 2010.
MOSWC is an annual competition for hundreds of students worldwide who are keen on Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
This year, the event attracted 110 teams from the US, India, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, Macau, Laos, and Cambodia.
