The Ministry of Transport has allowed the Vietnam Aviation Tourism Company to resume the sleep-box service at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport.
Previously, on July 22, the company launched the sleep-box service at the T1 terminal of the Noi Bai Airport but only three days later the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) inspected the service and suspended operations because it did not comply with existing regulations.
At the end of September, Noi Bai Airport sent a report on the new service to the CAAV and asked the agency's permission to resume the service. The CAAV approved the proposal.
Noi Bai Airport officials said the Vietnam Aviation Tourism Company was preparing necessary conditions to resume the service.
To improve the quality of passenger service, Noi Bai Airport has supplied free wifi service at the T1 terminal and added 500 new baggage trolleys.
The sleep-boxes are on the 3rd floor of T1 terminal hall.
Each sleep-box is 4m2 and 3m high, equipped with a bed, wardrobe, blanket, pillow, clothes hangers and alarm clock. Passengers are also served free drinks, snacks, and wifi service.
There are 14 sleep-boxes, including three single boxes and 11 double boxes. The service provider has listed the prices as VND210,000 ($10) for the first three hours for a single room and VND252,000 ($13) for a double room. The prices for the next three hours are VND180,000-VND215,000.
