Ethnic minority groups from various parts of Vietnam are taking part in a cultural market opened on April 19 in the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Culture and Tourism Village in Dong Mo tourist area, 40km from Hanoi.
The market forms part of activities in the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Cultural Festival, representing traditional market spaces of ethnic groups, including H'Mong and Tay from Ha Giang, Dao and Thai from Son La, Muong from Hoa Binh, and Nung from Lang Son.
Ba Na and Gia Rai ethnic groups from the central highland province of Kon Tum and M'Nong and E De from the central highland province of Dak Lak also join the event, along with Cham and Khmer group from the southern province of An Giang and the Hoa (Chinese) group from Ho Chi Minh City.
Traditional products and handicrafts created by ethnic minority groups draw a large number of visitors to the market, who also have the chance to engage in many traditional games and folklore performances.
