The Children Hospital No.1 in Ho Chi Minh City on February 19 announced that doctors at the hospital had been successful in saving a child patient suffering from a severe attack of dengue fever and other complications caused by organ failure.
The 9-year-old girl, from the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long, was transferred from the province General Hospital to the Children Hospital No.1 in HCMC with severe medical complications.
She was diagnosed with dengue fever on the ninth day, besides already suffering from shock, respiratory problems, acute liver infection and kidney failure.
After three weeks of treatment at the Children Hospital No.1, the girl’s health has gradually improved.
Doctors said this is the first such case they have handled, which became possible thanks to better collaboration and cooperation between medical workers in the province hospital and at Children Hospital No.1 in HCMC.
